Christmas parade Dec 6th

The Christmas parade is Thursday, December 6th at 5pm behind the Tabernacle Church on Tennessee Street in Cartersville.

Decorating the float on Dec 1st after the nursing home visit

Roger O Jr Ellis is requesting evergreen tree looking garland - That would be greatly appreciated.

Tricia and Roger have gotten bales of hay donated again like last year from home depot.

So we'll need some flannel blankets to place on top for the kids to sit on again.

We still have the Santa hats for the kids to wear. But if your child would like to wear something more fun they sure can. Or some cool bell necklaces.

We normally hand out candy so if every family could bring in a bunch of those mini candy canes that'd be awesome, we ran out every year in the years past.
TWO BIG RULES to follow:
1. No throwing of the candy. We must hand it out.
2. Any children under the age 13 must ride on the float. They're not allowed to walk.

Tigers in the Wild!

Leaf Rubbings (Tigers in the wild Requirement 6)

Have the tigers bring in two leaves. Have some extra samples on hand to make sure there will be different types of leaves for them to compare.

To make a leaf rubbing:
1. Lay the leaves on a piece of plain white paper. Be sure the veins are facing up. The more variety you have in the shapes and vein patterns, the more interesting the rubbings will be.

2. Lay another sheet of plain white paper on top of the leaves.

3. Choose a crayon and peel off the paper wrapper.

4. Using the side of the crayon, gently rub over the top sheet of paper.

5. Try different colors and leaf arrangements, and enjoy the beautiful pictures your Tigers create!

6. Using leaf rubbings and the actual leaves, have the den identify the leaves. Point out the characteristics of each leaf.

Alternatively:

This video shows a cool way to do leaf rubbings - something each Tiger needs to do.

Respect for the Flag The Lions and Tigers worked together using Popsicle sticks and paint to build USA Flags.  We learned about the meaning of the colors and number of stripes and stars!
